Real-World Data Adoption Lead

Our client is a pioneer in Drug Discovery and Development and one of the frontrunners in Personalised Healthcare. As the world`s largest R&D spender in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics domain, they work in a vast number of drug discovery & therapeutic areas and are highly recognized internationally. 

We are currently looking for a Real-World Data Adoption Lead for a 12-month contract (with possibility for extension) based in Basel, Switzerland.

Background:

The position will play a pivotal role in advancing the Diagnostic's utilization of Real World Data (RWD), unlocking its potential for data-driven decision-making. The Adoption Lead will be responsible for designing and implementing strategies to maximize the use of RWD across Diagnostic, fostering a culture that embraces and leverages the power of data. There are three RWD Domain’s long-term outcomes where the Adoption Lead will be contributing to:

  • Internal stakeholders have access to FAIR, fit-for-purpose data, when they need it
  • RWD activities and studies are easy and simple to plan, conducted efficiently, compliant, high- quality, and reproducible; and
  • Infrastructure, processes and procedures of RWD are known and incorporated across all product life cycles.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive the organization towards achieving the long-term outcomes in the RWD domain, aligning strategies and initiatives with overarching goals.
  • Collaborate closely with teams across the organization to co-create internal RWD policies and compliance processes, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements when applicable.
  • Develop comprehensive RWD training content and contribute to its implementation, empowering employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively utilize and interpret RWD.
  • Implement and expand the RWD communication plan, utilizing various channels and platforms to increase awareness and understanding of RWD among internal stakeholders, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify key stakeholder’s; needs related to RWD and determine appropriate real-world data sources to meet their objectives, ensuring that the organization has access to the necessary data to drive informed decision-making.
  • Lead the development and implementation of contracting and protocol processes with collaborators, ensuring adherence to internal requirements and efficient execution of collaborations.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with external stakeholders, including data partners, research organizations, and academic institutions, to access fit-for-purpose real-world data sources and stay up-to-date with industry advancements.
  • Collaborate with other RWD teams to develop and contribute to the Dia RWD knowledge repository, providing users with efficient and fast access to RWD insights and supporting evidence-based decision-making within the organization.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required
  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field, such as epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, biostatistics, health economics or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a related healthcare field, with a focus on RWD
  • In-depth knowledge of real-world data sources, such as electronic health records, claims databases, registries, and patient-reported outcomes.
  • Proven track record of driving successful implementation of RWD initiatives and delivering measurable business impact.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the RWD environment, including data quality considerations and emerging market trends.
  • Demonstrate practical experience in RWD operations, having actively participated as a user or contributor in the acquisition, integration, analysis, or interpretation of RWD.
  • Exhibit a strong grasp of data privacy regulations, governance frameworks, and policies related to the use of healthcare data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed, cross-functional environment
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English is a must
