We are currently looking for a Senior Expert Primary Packaging Technology for a 18+ months contract to be based anywhere in Europe.

Senior Expert Primary Packaging Technology (EU Remote) – 6435

 

Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to lead parenteral primary packaging development activities within an interdisciplinary project team. Responsibility includes sterile syringe-and- cartridgebased drugdevice Combination Products. The Global Device and Packaging Technology group develops medical devices and packaging for chemical, biologic, cell & gene and radioligand therapy products. The focus of this role is on new syringe and cartridge systems development for subcutaneous application of high dose chemical and biologic drug products.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  •  Lead packaging development activities with the project team members for assigned projects
  • Maintain knowledge in the areas of materials and manufacturing and support project specific 3rd party management
  • Conduct feasibility assessments on new technology/ packaging concepts and manage suppliers and Novartis internal functions and services respectively
  • Conduct design for manufacture assessments and tolerance stack analyses
  • Support development activities including but not limited to technology landscaping and change control
  • Disseminate knowledge and awareness of packaging technology within the wider organization and contribute to publications, presentations, and patents. Support the definition of packaging technology strategy and roadmap.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  •  Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required
  • Degree qualified in engineering, material sciences, pharmaceutical technology or similar
  • 3+ years proven experience in a similar field (medical device development, sterile primary packaging)
  • Strong communication skills for complex technical topics
  • Strong documentation skills for primary packaging components, systems and registration of medical device/ combination products based on experience with medical device and primary packaging regulatory landscape
  • High proficiency in English
