The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to support the development of innovative therapies for non-malignant hematological disorders, with a focus on hemoglobinopathies. You will join the Rare Blood Disorders group, working in a collaborative international team to assess the efficacy, safety, and translatability of new therapies. This position centers around in vitro cell culture-based models and ex vivo analysis using cutting-edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with transgenic mouse models, including injections, tissue collection, and processing.
- Perform in vitro assays, including multi-color flow cytometry, qPCR, and Western blotting.
- Handle and culture various cell types, including primary cells and patient-derived material.
- Design, execute, and interpret experiments collaboratively to validate therapeutic strategies.
- Document experimental work thoroughly and contribute to data analysis and presentations.
- Maintain high laboratory standards, contribute to assay optimization, and support a positive, team-oriented environment.
Your Profile
- MSc/BSc in Life Sciences (e.g., Cellular/Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Hematology) or equivalent apprenticeship with at least 3 years of experience in academic or industry settings.
- Valid animal experimentation authorization (e.g., LTK1, FELASA, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with rodents (e.g., injections, tissue sampling).
- Solid experience in cell culture and molecular in vitro techniques.
- Excellent data documentation and organizational skills.
- Previous industry experience is a strong asset.
- Fluent in English with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
