Our client, a global leader in pharmaceuticals based in Basel, is transforming its culture and global reputation. With a focus on innovative Oncology and Ophthalmology therapies, they’re also driving a world-leading pipeline in Neuroscience and Dermatology, maintaining one of the industry’s strongest portfolios of Phase II/III studies.

On their behalf, we are seeking a Senior Scientist for a contract position in Basel from January through October 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize gastrointestinal (GI) organoids from multiple species to support drug research projects, monitoring various endpoints through techniques like immunofluorescent imaging, flow cytometry, qPCR, and other assays to investigate drug toxicity. Responsibilities may also include developing new methods as needed.
  • Manage study timelines and objectives, ensure data quality, and document experiments in electronic systems.
  • Communicate study findings and data interpretation to cross-functional teams, and prepare related reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field with relevant experience, or completed apprenticeship as a lab technician.
  • Strong hands-on experience with complex in vitro models, especially organoids.
  • Proficiency in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, including Q-PCR, Flow Cytometry, and high-content imaging.
  • Experience with robotics (liquid handlers) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, GraphPad Prism™, and Spotfire™.
  • Knowledge of toxicology principles is highly valued.
